Banking Innovation with AI
I presented at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore on April 16, 2026, together with Luigi Ruggerone, on Banking Innovation with AI: Optimizing Processes, Enhancing Productivity and Real-World Applications.
My session focused on AI in Sales and Trading. I covered how AI is transforming every stage of the capital markets value chain — from research copilots and trading strategies to optimal execution, market making, and risk management. I discussed the evolution from human-driven trading floors to AI-augmented markets, the four pillars required to build AI-driven capabilities (models, data, compute, governance), and the organizational trade-offs between centralized, hybrid, and federated AI operating models. I also presented real-world use cases including reinforcement learning for optimal execution, the Aiden platform from RBC, and the practical journey from research collaboration through proof of concept to production scaling.
